These seven case studies examine seven historical extreme events or conditions including cyclones, droughts, heatwaves, floods, storm tides to produce a set of freestanding case studies that, when considered together, provide in-depth explorations of our knowledge of present-day adaptation, vulnerabilities and resilience to climate variability and change
